TANCET actually stands for Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test. As the name itself suggests, it is the official Tamil Nadu entrance exam which is conducted in order to help the candidates to get admissions to the various courses offered by various universities in the state of Tamil Nadu which are associated with this exam i.e.TANCET.
TANCET mainly aims to help the candidates to get admissions in the post graduate or also called the master degree courses all across the state of Tamil Nadu.
Also, it is quite clear that this entrance exam is exclusively for candidates belonging to the state of Karnataka.
After filling out the application forms, the candidates will be issued their personal admit cards which will guarantee their participation in the entrance test.
The entry in the test center will not be without the availability of the admit card with the candidate. This entrance exam, being the official entrance exam of the state, is quite a popular as well as prestigious one and has gained a fair amount of it’s share in grabbing the attention of students appearing in the final years of their under graduate degrees.

TANCET 2017 Eligibility Criteria
-The applicant/candidates must be in the possession of any one of the following educational qualification with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate.The same percentile amount has been reduced down to 45% for candidates belonging to the reserved category.
-Candidates with 10+2+AMIE (OR) 10+3 year diploma+ AMIE .
-Candidates with the degree of B.E/B.Tech/B.Arc/B.Pharm/B.Sc(Agri/forestry/Horticulture/fishery).
-Candidates with the master’s degree in M.Sc(5years) Integrated Degree.
-Candidates with the Master’s degree in Science/Arts.
-Candidates with the degree of M.C.A Lateral (2years) after 10+2+3 year degree in BCA/B.Sc(Computers&IT)
-Candidates with the degree of M.C.A(3year) after 10+2+3 .
-Candidates with the degree of B.Sc(3years) & M.Sc(2years) in Computer Science and IT.
TANCET 2017 Exam Pattern
Exam Pattern
-The TANCET 2017 Exam pattern is a computer based online test and comprises of 3parts.
-PART-1 and PART-2 are the parts which are compulsory for a candidate to attempt and there will be 30 questions in each of the two parts.
-PART-3 is that part which is selected by the candidate himself which he/she feels is a strong part of them and a total of 40 questions will be asked in this section.
-Each question will carry a maximum of 1 Mark for each correct answer and 1/3 mark of the total mark awarded per correct answer will be deducted for each wrong answer indicated.
-All of the answers will be answered on an OMR Sheet (Optical Mark Reader).
