JEE MAIN 2017 Application Form

JEE MAIN is the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by CBSE (Central Board Of Secondary Education). It is the largest engineering entrance exam. In 2016, it was held in April in both online and offline modes and same way it has been conducted every year. The students seeking admission in various engineering courses tend to appear for this examination which is paper 1 and those who want to go for architecture, appear in the Paper 2.

Age Limit JEE MAIN 2017

A general candidate, for JEE MAIN 2017, should be born on or After October 1, 1992. The reserved categories have been given a relaxation of 5 years.

JEE MAIN 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Admission Criteria to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NIITs, IITs, other centrally funded tecnical institutions shall include the performance in the last class, 10+2 and in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE MAIN.
JEE MAIN also serves as an eligibility test for JEE Advance which is conducted by the IITs.

JEE MAIN 2017 Exam Pattern

Paper 1
Physics: Total 30 questions. Each of 4 marks. Maximum Marks 120.
Chemistry: Total 30 questions. Each of 4 marks. Maximum Marks 120.
Mathematics: Total 30 questions. Each of 4 marks. Maximum Marks 120.
Total: 90 question. Each of 4 marks. Maximum marks 360.

Paper 2
Part I-Mathematics: Total 30 questions. Each of 4 marks. Maximum Marks 120.
Part II-Aptitude Test: Total 50 questions. Each of 4 marks. Maximum Marks 200.
Part III- Drawing: Total 2 questions. Maximum Marks 70
Total: 82 questions.Maximum 390 Marks.

Note: Paper 1 will be held both in online modes and offline modes whereas Paper 2 will be held only in offline mode.

JEE MAIN 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Year of Appearing in qualifying examination: Candidate must have appeared in the QE in at least five subjects in 2015,2016 or appearing in 2017.

Number of Attempts : The maximum number of attempts in JEE MAIN is 3.

Changes Made For JEE MAIN 2017

1)The performance of the student in the 12th class Examination shall be a crucial parameter for determining the eligibility of the students for the JEE Examination.
2) For the candidates to qualify in the JEE examination, they shall have scored at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective boards.
3)The present system of giving 40% weightage for the 12th class marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE MAIN shall be dispensed with.
4)All other JEE Examination systems shall remain unchanged.
