Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is the national level entrance exam. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is conducted for the admission of the candidates into the postgraduate courses in the field of the engineering and technology in the IITs , IISc, IISER and other well reputed institutions. GATE exam is also considered at the time of the recruitment into the government jobs in the technical field. Candidates can apply for the GATE 2018 who completed their graduation in the concerned discipline.
GATE 2018-2019
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is conducted by the seven zonal IITs and an IISc on the rotational basis. Candidates who wants to do the post graduation in the engineering or technology field can apply for the GATE 2018. It is a national level entrance exam and thousands of the candidates will appear in the GATE 2018 from all over the nation. The application form are out now and interested candidates can apply for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) before the last date of submission. GATE 2018-2019 Application Fees
The applications fees of the GATE 2018 is given below:
- Application Fees for the Female Candidates is Rs.750
- Application Fees for the PwD and Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Scheduled Caste (SC) Candidates is Rs.750
- Application Fees for the Other Category’s Candidates is Rs.1500
- Application Fees for the International Candidates is $50.

Educational Qualifications: Any candidate can apply for the GATE 2018 who fulfill the qualifications which are given below:

GATE 2018-2019 Exam Pattern
- The GATE 2018 is going to conduct for the M.Tech. and Ph.D. programme.
- There will be total 23 papers which will be conducted but the candidate has to appear in any of them.
- This will be computer based exam.
- The duration of the exam is 180 minutes.
- There will be total 65 questions in the question paper
- There will be two type of questions i.e. Multiple Type Question and the other one is Numerical Type. There will be no options in the Numerical Type Questions.
- Multiple Type Question and Numerical Type Question are of 1 or 2 marks
- There is also negative marking
- 1/3rd marks will be deducted when the question is of 1 mark and 2/3rd marks will be deducted when the question is of 2 marks.
Exam Pattern for All the Paper (Except GG, XE and XL):
GATE 2018-2019 Help Desk Numbers
- There will be 25 questions of 1 mark each and 30 questions of 2 marks each and there will be 10 questions from General Awareness.
Exam Pattern for CG:
- There will be 25 questions of 1 mark each and 30 questions of 2 marks each and there will be 10 questions from General Awareness. There will be two parts. Part 1 is common for all the candidates and Part 2 is in two sections i.e. Geology and Geophysics.
Exam Pattern for XE:
- Section A is compulsory for all the candidates which contains the question of Engineering Mathematics. There will be total 11 questions in this section (7 question – 1 mark each and 4 questions is of 2 mark each)
- Candidate have to attempt any two section from Section B to Section H. There will be total 22 questions in this section (9 questions of 1 mark each and 13 questions is of 2 mark each)
- There will be 10 questions from General Awareness.
Exam Pattern for XL:
- Section P is compulsory for all the candidates which contains the question of Chemistry. There will be total 15 questions in this section (5 question – 1 mark each and 10 questions is of 2 mark each)
- Candidate have to attempt any two section from Section Q to Section U. There will be total 20 questions in this section (10 questions of 1 mark each and 10 questions is of 2 mark each).
- There will be 10 questions from General Awareness.
GATE 2018-2019 Answer Key
The candidate can download the answer key from the official website in which the candidate can compare his answers with the real answers. The authority can provide the answer key for all the key sections. The answer key can be download from the official website.
GATE 2018-2019 Result
The result of the GATE 2018 will be released in the last week of March 2018 and candidates can know that they qualify the exam or not. The result will be declared online and candidates can check their result by visiting the official website and enter your roll no. to get the result.
How to fill GATE 2018 Application Form
- Candidate has to go the official website of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) i.e. gate.iitr.ernet.in
- Candidate have to go to the apply online option and click on it
- Choose GATE 2018 Application Form
- Fill all the details correctly and properly and upload the required documents without attempting any kind of mistake
- Click on the submit button and then the new page will open on the screen
- Candidate has to pay the application fees by debit card or by credit card
- Candidate can save the application form for future use.
