National Institute for the Orthopaediaclly Handicapped is an apex organization in the area of locomotor disability which came into the existence in 1978 as an autonomous body under the ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. It is located in the city Kolkata and expanding its services whole countrywide.
This institution arranges Common Entrance Test (CET) every year at the starting of a session to find out the applicable and deserving candidates for filling the seats in various courses. On the basis of this test candidates are selected for taking admission in courses like bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Bachelor of Occupational therapy (BOT), and Bachelor Prosthetics and Orthotics therapy (BPO).Although, no official statements have been made by the conducting body regarding this test’s version of 2017 but any official declaration will directly be uploaded to it’s official website.
The candidates/applicants are advised to make sure that they fit well within the specified criteria which is prefixed by the exam conducting body and then, go for filling out the application form. The various details about the exam like eligibility criteria, exam pattern etc. are given below.
NIOH 2017 Eligibility Criteria
BPT Course (4 years + 6 months): 10+2 exam or any equivalent examination from a recognized board with subjects Physics (P), Chemistry (C), Biology (B) and English with minimum aggregate of 50% in PCB when taken together for General/OBC and the same number of % has been reduced down to a 40% for SC/ST and PH (reserved) applicants/candidates.
BOT Course (4 years + 6 months): 10+2 exam or any equivalent examination from a recognized board with subjects-Physics (P), Chemistry (C), Biology (B) and English with minimum aggregate of 50% in PCB when taken together for General/OBC and the same number of % has been reduced down to a 40% for SC/ST and PH (reserved) applicants/candidates.
BPO Course (4 years + 6 months): 10+2 exam or any equivalent examination from a recognized board with subjects-Physics (P), Chemistry (C), Biology (B) or Mathematics and English with minimum aggregate of 50% in PCB when taken together for General/OBC and the same number of % has been reduced down to a 40% for SC/ST and PH (reserved) applicants/candidates.
The applicants who have appeared in the qualifying exam with essential subjects and results are awaited, can also apply and appear in the entrance test.
