NATA is National Aptitude Test in Architecture, conducted by Council of Architecture, being the competent and final authority for fixing standards for architectural institutions and having the necessary expertise to hold Common Aptitude Test in Architecture at national level.
It is conducted in order to help the candidates to get admissions in First Year of 5 year B.Arch Degree courses in the recognized institutions all over the country.
NATA 2017 Exam Date/Events
Starting of Registration : Third Week of January 2017
Closing date of registrations : Mid of August 2017
Exam Date NATA 2017 : First Week of April to Last of May 2017/First week of June to Last Week of August 2017
Changes made in NATA 2016
The following changes have been made and are effective for NATA 2016:
-There are a maximum of 5 attempts per candidate to qualify for NATA within 2 years from the date of their first attempt.
-The best score out of the no. of attempts made will be taken in consideration.
-The validity of best score will be till the upcoming 2 years.
-A registration form and exam fee have to be paid for every attempt to qualify in NATA.
-If any candidate is found registering afresh concealing the earlier appearances in NATA, his/her candidature will be cancelled and will be barred from appearing in the exam ever again.
NATA 2017 Eligibility Criteria
-Any candidate who has passed the 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% in his/her aggregate can appear in the NATA exam.
-The applicants desirous of taking admission in First year of Architecture appear in this exam.
-No direct admission is allowed in NATA. Every applicant must sit through the entrance test and qualify in order to get admission.
NATA Exam Pattern 2017
The test is conducted in two parts. One is drawing test and second is aesthetic sensitivity test.
Drawing Test :
-Ability to sketch an object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appearing manner.
-Sense of perspective drawing.
-Combining and composing given three dimensional objects to form structures.
-Creating visual harmony using colors in given composition.
Aesthetic Sensitivity Test :
-Visualizing three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings.
-Visualizing different sides of 3 dimensional objects.
-Analytical Reasoning.
-Mental Ability.
-Imaginative comprehension and expression.
-Architectural Awareness.
Important Instructions
-The applicants are advised to reach the test center about an hour before the exam starts.
-If the candidate arrives at the test center without the required identification documents, the test center in-charge will not admit the candidate and candidate will not be allowed to take the test.
